Beer can chicken—take two

Success! I've replaced the usual dry rub with a wet baste during the last 15 minutes of cooking. This beer can chicken is more to my looking. Find the recipe in my cookbook.

The brined chicken, a can of beer, and the leather gloves that I use for handling hot stuff (now replaced with welder's gloves).

I used Rainier Beer in my first (disastrous) attempt at beer can chicken. Maybe Tecate will help?

After basting, and ready to remove from the grill to rest.

Carved and ready to eat. It's messy, but hey, it's BBQ! Have lots of napkins ready.
